Mike,
My comments to an earlier thread were not intended to complain about having a cap or criticize the use of PB value in determining the cap. While not perfect, PB is a useful metric. My concerns are twofold. One, some of us have made trades to be in compliance with the cap. If the PB value of players now changes perhaps some of those tades were unnecessary. Second, there may be some managers who have made moves to get under the cap, who without any changes to their roster may now be once again over the cap. This specific case applies to one of my teams. I am under the cap by a margin of .1. It would not take much of a shift to put me over the cap once again. Do I trade now to get even lower under the cap? How much under the cap would be considered "safe"? If a team is just over the cap, should the manager trade to fix this or just wait in case the ballpark effects "fix" it? It seems to me that anyone near the cap should not want to trade until the PB values of all his players are final. I don't object to having to comply with a standard, what is frustrating is that the standard is a moving target and at present there is no way to know for sure if your team is in compliance or not!
