Excellent Point!!!
Excellent point Mike. I cannot even count the number of times I have been talking with fellow league members regarding matchups where they expected to trounce or get trounced and didn't.
When simulating a game with numbers the whole things is about different combinations and permutations of the statistical data. But since the probabilities of any event are never 0% or 100% then anything can happen in any given game.
For a real life example see compare Jose Jimenez's performance against the National League for the entire season and then check out his no-hitter against one of the best offensive teams in the NL this year.
On a related subject.... I know that in Real Time Leagues they use streak stats for some of the games. But I have wondered when playing launch leagues and Traditional leagues if there is also some mechanism by which players get "hot" or "cold."
I know it doesn't say so in the rules but sometimes it feels like in a specific game or series players get really hot or really cold. Its possible that they are all randomly getting hits at the same time but I just wondered if there was another
mechanism in place. (In real life sometimes hitting is contagious and/or sometimes the pitcher is just having an off day and can't get back on track no matter how hard they try).
