What's your take on players playing out of position?

My team has been completely hospitalized this year. I can't believe it. But that's beside the point.

I'm considering playing anybody with a pulse. The manual says that "the primary position" is all that matters. Is that your experience? So far, I've been playing any bum that has played an inning at 1B, just to get through the season. But I've got two pretty good SS's (Rich Aurilia and Rey Ordonez).

What would be better for me? Say, Kevin Orie, who has played two innings at 1B, or one of my SS's, since one of them is one the farm anyway?
