As recently as 2 weeks ago the guy was demanding Escobar AND (Corey Koskie or Ken Griffey) for Kent. So I don't think he seriously wanted to do Escobar for Kent.

I think that it was a kneejerk reaction he made to the trade that was vetoed with Mora.

I have yet to find someone other than the commish that likes the Mora side more than the Escobar side.
