That Mora will hit .317 and play 145 games this year? He's 32 and his track record shows that he is a career .262 hitter with a career OPS of .761. Going into last year he was a career .249 hitter with a career OPS of .722. Last year the OPS was .921. His best year before that was 2000. That year hit .275 with a .748 OPS.
I would say that a reasonable expectation from Mora this year is 145-150 games with an average of .250 - .265 and an OPS of .725 - .760. If that projection is accurate then his value is close to a #3 starter.
Saying that Mora is better than Escobar is not a statement I agree with... but it is defendable (and I appreciate you coming forward with that opinion).
