What has happend to trade approval?

Posted By Cameron

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but is this Escobar/Mora deal really the kind of thing that needs to be scrutinized so closely by the commish? I thought that the spirit of trade approval by the commish as written in the manual was to protect the integrity of the league and the stability of each team involved. I think that if you put this trade in that context, this becomes a fairly benign event. If I personally saw this trade come over the wire in my league, I would not give it another thought.

In addition, it sounds to me like the parties involved in this trade got some feedback from the commish. Last year I tried for over a week to get a deal done. The other manager and I came to agreement several times and each time we were rejected. In between rejections I wrote to the commish and BEGGED him to tell me why he was rejecting the trades. I never did get a response. All I wanted to know was who he thought needed to sweeten the deal. The evidence on this board in these posts about Joey's trade shows that sometimes you can't tell what the commish is thinking.

Aside from unmanaged team trades, has anyone else noticed that trade approval has become more frustrating in the past year? To be more specific, I seem to get more rejections and far less feedback (in my case none) about those rejections. I have never been in any kind of dispute with the commish over his judgement on a trade, however, I am getting tired of unexplained trade rejections with managed teams.
