..... but my situation was one where taking a loss was the right thing to do.

My alternatives were:

(1) do nothing, use Jeter at 2B, and watch Kevin Brown's ERA (extreme ground ball pitcher) baloon because Jeter at 2B would yield lots of errors and many balls getting through to RF.

(2) overpay by a ton for someone like Kent, Boone, or Vidro (I'm not sure if Vidro is even available but the prices quoted for Kent and Boone were out of my range)

(3) overpay by a smaller amount for Mora. Mora has range problems but I think his FPCT and DP rating will help at 2B.

I felt that using Jeter at 2B would negate the value of having Brown on my team this year. So I chose option (3) which was to overpay a little instead of overpaying a lot.

I'm guessing that next year there is a 50-50 shot that Mora will be a write-off. I hope that he ends up on the positive side of his projection but I won't bet the farm on it.
