With Garciaparra, I can see why he wouldn't want Jeter. Even without Garciaparra I can see why he might not want Jeter any more than you do. I keep thinking Jeter is going to be moved to 2B instead of A-Rod moving to 3B. Don't ask me why I can't keep it straight. It just makes so much more sense that way. If Jeter can play an acceptable SS for the Yankees, it is hard to see why he'd be that much worse at 2B. They can't have very high expectations. The added Defense A-rod would give at SS ought to be more than the drop Jeter would provide at 2B.

It just looked like he was trying to get younger and rebuild and you were trying to get strong at 2B and make a run for it now - plus Jeter didn't fit your team needs. I realize most wouldn't figure Jeter for Kent even up would work because of the age thing so I wasn't necesarily thinking of it as an even swap...though I personally would rather have Kent.
