Situational Deal
Partly as an experiment, I tried to do mirror-image trade in two leagues.
In one, I offered Mike Young for Jose Reyes and was turned down flat immediately. The other team will be without a shortstop if Reyes moves and I will be without a second baseman.
In another league, in similiar circumstances, I offered Reyes for Young. So far I haven't heard back from that owner.
Given that Young is a little older and Reyes has more upside (how much is hard to tell since he plays in New York; somebody like Bill James should develop a mathematical formula to discount the hype anybody playing in New York gets--it could be called the "Jeter factor"). Anyhow, what do you think? Would you do one, or the other, or both of these deals, given a chance?
