This thread illustrates something that comes into play when trades are in question: The commish is a fan, too. He's a very savvy judge of talent, but he has guys he "likes" and "doesn't like" on the basis of an educated guess just like the rest of us.

No matter who is selected to rule on trades, there is a subjective factor in it--something we should remember and have patience with when we get trades disapproved. I'm still waiting to see if Loaiza will tank and prove my point from a disapproved trade last summer. I don't expect him to ever have a year close to what he had last year, but at that time anyway, Mike was extremely high on him.

The Subjective factor is, after all, half the fun!
