I think they must give more liberty with usage for injured players so that you may use more usage earlier in the season in case the injury comes late in the season.

I have a similar situation on one of my teams. I have Ramon Martinez (TRAD league-- so its 1998 stats). He was injured half the season last year and I have his usage at around 180 and he has never appeared as overused.
