Yes you missed it. I'll clarify.

The comment was made on how a team of pitchers with ERA's in real life were 3.5 to 4.0, but in a launch league produced ERA's below 3. A pitchers real life stats(hits, walks, extra basehits allowed) are the reason for this.

"I was talking of the ERA from a PB season, not a player's real life ERA."

The ERA from a PB season is derived from a pitchers real life stats(hits, walks, extra basehits allowed) not his real life ERA.

"I think the ERA a pitcher has during a PB season has some meaning as to how well he performed.
Don't you?"

Yes, but you can't compare a pitchers real life ERA with what he achieves in PB since, like I mentioned above, the game uses actual real life stats, not his real life ERA.

Thus it is easy to see ERA's being produced in PB that are different than his ERA in real life.
A pitcher could have had a 4.00 ERA in real life, but didn't allow many walks or extra basehits, thus he will more likely produce a season that is better than the 4.00 ERA in PB.

OK?
