Lets clear it up more

Posted By Brian C

Let me clear it up even more for you then
I will only speak for my situation then.
No it was a Trad league 99t2 to be exact.
the leagues second season. The stats used that season is considered 99, 98 for the first.
The Skarlet Knights would make the playoffs that year based on a huge part of trading for Scott Erickson who put up around 2.30 era for the year
and led the way to a division win.
The problem is in real life Erickson posted a 4.81 era and gave up 27 homers I dont think he even gave up HRs in double digits for PB.
next
Randy Johnson same year pitches 270 inn.
with a 2.48 era 30hr and 70 walks.
I only played him 3/4 of the year he was so terrible.
posting the fabulous 6+ era about 60+ walks and more hrs then he gave up in real life, and remember it was just 1/2+ of his usage!!
I remember it so well because it made me irate.
I posted many posts ont the league page.
I thought I posted a reply on the main board with some angry remarks in 2000 and 2001 but cant remember or maybe they where removed. I know there is one on him 4/23/00 by another unhappy Johnson owner.
With all that small sample size garbage going around.
But anyway I went to the playoffs and it was a total 180 as Erickson got killed in 2 games and Johnson getting my only win in 1 game. go figure.
I then traded him after a second straight dismal season where without Ericksons great stuff(back to reality) I failed to make the playoffs.
So hope this clears things up and is exact enough.
Because its crazy that 2 players can be so lopsided but play in the same pb park and same team.
Its extreme but it happened..
and will always happen maybe not to this extent but to some.
