Bigbie's Arm
I've got a question about defensive stats. Larry Bigbie has an arm rating of 4.5 in left and 0.1 in center(rt). He has played 282 innings in left, and only 7 innings in center. The trick is, he has exactly one assist in both places. It would seem to me that a statistically based game would overestimate his abilities in center, thinking that he could continue at the pace of one assist per seven innings. I applaud our game for not overemphasizing this small sample, but hasn't it gone to far? Wouldn't it be more fair to have his arm rating the same in both left and center? Generally, what keeps a player in left instead of center is his speed and range, not his arm.
