Tomko hit well but is not a good hitter. If you had put your best lineup out there he would not have hit first. Not really fair to your opponent either -- he ended up scoring 12+ runs a game and using up way more of his abs than he could have anticipated.
But, I don't buy the tanking theory. Your pitching staff is so thin, both talent and more number wise, that you are guaranteed to be in the lottery every month, with the first pick judging by your pb score, regardless of whom you start in the field.
