Seriouly Downgraded?
This Glavin thing brings up a good issue. PB Mike Bravard keeps using the word "seriouley Downgraded" what does that really mean?
question one: does it down grade even more the more over used pitcher or hitter is? say I pitch Steve Cook once over the limit or twice or 10 times is he more seriouly downgraded or just always downgraded?
Question two: As a manager I just see Glavin as a stud pitcher before me, true over used or tired but I see a great looking pitcher...how do I counter a pitcher that I am not really sure what his real stats are? does downgraded seriouly mean what he loses clutch and grade or vs RH and LH...say he has a 220 ba vs LH batters..does it jump 50 points or a hundered?
I just find all this seriouly downgrade thing comfusing to manage....A team send a bunch of over used players at me itchy players and tired players to worn out and I just see their stats and not sure what I am up againsted.
Baseball is alot of numbers and that is why we love it-we love to manage numbers vs numbers but how do I counter numbers that are not viewable or logically understood?
My reason for wondering just resently I played a team in LL 35 Evensville Tripplets, he used Steve Cook vs me and cook held me to one run. Cook has a total of 6 innings period all year in real baseball and this guy has gotten nearly 15 out of him in a LL that is like 3X15=45 innings WOW. so he took 6 innings and turned them in to 45 and Cook has a 1.29 ERA. Naturally when I saw a pitcher around 3,000 over used..thought I could rest a few guys:( actually I don't mind him abusing mr 6 innings wonder Cook..always say if you can push a botton and it works then your good to go but just wished I new what I was really up againsted at times.
