I don't think it is bad sportsmanship to do that. Not great sportsmanship either but the burden should be on both sides to get the information they need about the health of the players. I had a good offer for foppert last year. I responded that I would accept but wanted to make sure the person knew that foppert had just found out he needed tommy john surgery. The person did not and withdrew the trade. I don't think it would have been unfair if I had accepted, but I felt better about how I handled it. I will probably be able to make more trades in the future with that owner because he does not feel I pulled one over on him.
