Hey, a question I can answer.

Hey, a question I can answer. The robot will not chose a reliever(based on his listed role) as a starter, even if you list him as a starter. I know Shields made starts, but because he isn't considered a starter, the robot ignores him, even when you are trying to tell the robot that you want Shields to be a starter. It then chooses a guy that has a role as starter.

So what to do.

If you want Shields to start in a series, choose him for a specific game, say game 4, submit instructions for that one specific game with Shields listed as starter. This overrides the robots programming. You can let the robot assign pitchers for the other games.

The other thing you can try is this(I'm only 50% sure on this one):

Don't have Foppert(or any other guy with starts that you don't want starting) on you main roster. Thus if you want Shields to start, have only 4 other starters(guys with at least 1 start) on your roster. Thus when it comes time to choose a starter, and all starters are tired except Shields(who you have set as a starter), the robot should then choose Shields(because he has some starts for the season).
