Unfortunately, PB value is heavily weighted toward playing time (Ip or AB). This makes sense since you have to meet the minimum IP & AB for a team to last the season. But it makes fringe players more valuable (PB wise) than they really are.

For example Encarnacion (650 ABS) has about the same PB as Sosa (580 ABS)and Alex Gonzalez has a higher PB than both of them. PB takes into account playing time, defense and the types of hits generated by the offensive player and is aguideline only. I prefer to have situational guys I can move in & out to give my team the right match ups.
