This has happened to me before. I'm not as thorough as Bob about being able to reconstruct what I had done, but I was certain I had set the lineups and positions.
In posts below, teams' being positioned this way has been tied to tanking.
I'm hesitant to think all of this is tanking.
Of course, maybe some players have figured out how to produce this robot error, but it seems like we should give the benefit of the doubt to them.
I've never seen an adequate explanation of why this error occurs.
I have had it reoccur when I've used default lineups. In one case, it happened through a whole series and the home owner let me know about it. I cleared the lineups and reset for the next series and it didn't happen from their on out.
