Can't agree
I can understand a manager wanting to stay on top, but you have to see it from a weak team's point of view. The only, and I mean only, chance for a struggling team to improve is if the rules give the weaker teams an advantage. Once a year just doesn't cut it.
We must keep in mind that this rule change only effects Real Time. Trad leagues are set for the year. But a couple of injuries and a couple of poor performances on a RT team can plummet a PB total. The only way to remain competative is to improve through the FA draft. Weak teams need to improve the active roster, whereas rich just want to improve their bench.
Under the present random system, if a weak team doesn't get a decent pick for several drafts, the team really gets bad, to the point where the manager says "to hell with this" and dumps the team, because there is nothing but a random chance for improvement. That leaves a list of horrible unmanaged team, run by the robot, which is a situation nobody wants.
Rich teams need to bite the bullet and give the weak teams a break. The proposed change might not be the perfect solution, but something needs to done. And it needs to be done now.
