Good point

I totally agree. You hit the nail on the head. I don't even bother watching my Rams play the 49er's because they have no chance on Earth to win.
The same goes for the LA Clippers winning in Chicago (while Jordan was there). In some football and basketball matchups, you can pretty much mail it in. But in baseball, anything can happen on a given night. How about the biggest shocker of the year: Card's pitcher Jose Jimenez beating Randy Johnson and the D-backs, not once, but twice in row! A no hitter on the road, then a 1-hitter at home. Going into the game, he was one of the worst pitchers in the NL (statistically anyway). The point is that while stats, averages, splits, and rates do play a part of the game and the simulation...there is a degree of randomness to it. Otherwise it would get pretty boring!
