Personally I think:

1.) (Jim Edmonds + Ken Harvey) for (Jim Thome + Torii Hunter) is close to a push; although I would personally rather have Edmonds and Harvey.

2.) If you're looking at an extended period of time I believe Jason Kendall is substantially better than Jason LaRue.

3.) Since Hampton went to Colorado he's never been the same. Also he is older than Marquis. I think I would choose Marquis.

4.) Rodrigo Lopez and Urbina have both had their ups and downs but right now I think Lopez has more value.

5.) Chad Tracy probably won't be a star. But he is young and he does have a job as a regular and he seems to be doing decent. I would think he has some value.

So analyzing the trade bit by bit my personal opinion is that the side with Edmonds, et al is considerably better than the side with Thome, et al.
