I think you are missing the point on doubleheaders. If a true doubleheader was in the schedule, it would mean zero days of rest for your roster and your bullpen would be much weaker for the 2nd game in the doublehitter. That is what would make it interesting, not the fact that you can play a bunch of games in one sitting. I think random doubleheaders would be a good idea, except that it would mess up the away team's preset rosters. What if the starting pitcher for game 2 of the doubleheader was not at 30 BFA yet because he didn't get that extra day of rest? I guess the way around that would be to give starters the full recovery during the first game of the double header so that they would be able to pitch in game 2 if it was there turn in the rotation.
