Relief Pitchers BFA/Recovery
I am wondering what criteria determines relief pitchers status in these two areas? I have checked the manual and it does not explain how these numbers are arrived at.
With regard to relievers, BFA seems straight forward, the more batters you face the more BFA you earn. Where I stumble is what standard is used to determine recovery?
Is recovery based solely upon frequency of use?
Is recovery based on when in the season a Pitcher made his initial appearance?
The guy I am wondering about is Giovanni Carrara in RT this year.
He has not pitched on back to back days this year, nor did he pitch until July, but frequently pitches more than an inning and his recovery remains at 2 despite pitching 2 appearances in which he pitched 7 innings last week.
His stats for the RT season are 15 appearances and 26.1 innings pitched.
Any clarity here is appreciated.
