Sorry, Bob
I used to be a member of G4, so I will weigh in with my perspective, whatever that is worth.
When do we stop considering Baez and Hall prospects and see some results? Baez was supposed to be part of Cleveland's future and they gave up on him. He doesn't have good enough stuff to be a starter and the closer role hasn't seemed to suit him (3.81 ERA?). He can get righties out, but seems to have trouble with lefties. He's been in the league a couple years now.
Hall doesn't hit for power, doesn't get on base, and doesn't hit for average. He's decent behind the plate, I guess, so that makes him no better than a platoon player. Again, when is he not a prospect since he's been around for a year or two. Those are the two "prospects", the two prizes of the trade?
I'm sorry, but I've attempted MUCH better trades with MLESS teams that have been turned down. Trades that would help them now and in the future with the purpose of being fair and giving up picks that would help them down the road. Aged or not this one isn't even close, in my opinion. The MLESS team should have gotten more. If that trade were offered to me, I would have said no thanks.
