G4 Trade-Still Missing the boat
A few more comments are in order. I am as aggressive a trader as they come and have built many championship teams. 3 of my 4 teams have Title hopes this year.
1) I have pursued M-Less trades and been turned down many times for deals that were far more generous than what Arizona did.
2) I agree with the comments about Hall and Baez. Give me a break! The FA draft every year supplies you with Baez-like performers. He is not an impact player and Hall is not close.
3) The history of Arizona trades has been discussed many times. I don't want to hear and "kudos to Arizona" for pursuing deals when others did not-Look at his trades! Look at his roster! His farm club St. Pete buddy is gone. For some odd reason, he caught Mike at just the right time.
Under the scenario that the M-Less team is better for having done this trade, this may be true but this team could/should have gotten substantially more for the players delivered to Arizona and if "deadline deals with M-Less Teams" produce these kind of "beneficial trades to M-Less Teams", than all M-Less Teams should do a roster dump at the deadline and we might as all do no deals prior to the deadline so we have the draft picks to give away.
I agree with Ogden that the deal should be rescinded and I also believe that no trades should be permitted that exceed more than 10 players/picks-This will damage Arizona's long-standing 14-20 "impossible to evaluate" player swaps.
