Posting trades

Posted By Bob C

I understand the reasons for this suggestion, however I think the down side of this suggestion outweighs the benefits. I trade frequently. It has been my expreience that rarely does a completed trade result from my posting a message on the trade board. More often than not I either get no response at all or someone sends me an offer that is not even close to what I asked for. Rather what I do is when I identify a need on my team I spend some time looking at all the rosters to identify a team that may be strong in that area. I then look to see if that team is a contender or rebuilding and what they could use in return. If I think I haver found a match I will send an official offer as well as an email explaining my rationale for the trade. Sometimes the offer is accepted right away, sometimes it is rejected without explanation, most of the time there is an exchange of emails and then some sort of deal (often similar to my original offer) is completed. To have to post the offer at this point to the entire league would either kill the nearly completed negotiations between the two teams or at the very least hold up the trade by a week or more. If I have a weakness as a trader it is that I like closure. I hate it when negotiations drag on. I prefer to either get rejected or get a deal done in a week, two weeks at most. I think that the suggestion to post every trade publicly would make trading more difficult and therefore I would not be in favor of this suggestion. This is just my opinion but I would like to see what others think.
