Pitching grades
I agree. In my experience, I'd rather have a pitcher with a standard grade > clutch grade. He tends to keep runners off base at the beginning. The guys with a grade < clutch grade, seem to allow runners, then they inevitably give up another key hit (usually extra-base variety), and end up with ERA's much higher than expected.
But note, the game doesn't really use those ratings, but rather the actual stats themselves to generate outcomes. (See my post below about Madson/Pitching study.)
