I agree that you often see instances where a "poor" pitcher goes out and tosses a no-hitter or a "mediocre" hitter goes 4 for 5 with 5 rbi. That's just pure variation and can easily be accounted for. Even a team underperforming for a whole 5-game series is not unusual. And you might even expect 1 or 2 players on your roster to have incredible productive or unproductive entire seasons. BUT when most of your line-up continually underperforms for almost the entire season, something is wrong. The idea of having a "safeguard" in place that triggers a hot streak after a player has been underperforming for 250 AB may be what is needed and very appealing to those owners who have suffered thru long losing seasons due to poor stats. Many owners spend enormous amounts of time evaluating draft choices, analyzing trades, juggling line-ups, scouting other teams in order to be competitive. When that is undermined by a program which does not reflect real baseball simulation it becomes very frustrating. Writing off an ENTIRE season because of underachieving stats for almost your entire lineup is UNACCEPTABLE and somehow needs to be addressed!
A safequard that puts a player into a "slump" also should be included to avoid a hitter who bats .250 for the season wind up with a .325 BA in PB.
