ANOTHER PB QUIRK

Posted By Patrick

I have Wil Cordero on one of my teams. His PB ratings are as follows:

1B = 3.9 ODR N/A ARM 7.0 FPCT
LF = 2.4 ODR 7.5 ARM 0.1 FPCT

In corresponding ML season, he played 1 inning of 1 game in LF with no PO, E, etc. I understand that a player like him, played in LF during PB will perform HORRIBLE as the manual states and is evidenced by him playing 250 innings in LF during PB and committing 33 errors. My question is then, where does his 2.4 ODR and 7.5 ARM come from (should it not be zero)? And why should he be penalized as opposed to another 1B who is totally unrated at LF and who will only have a 20% decrease in ODR and 6% decrease in FPCT? Does that make any sense, that a player who played 1 inning at a position will be SUBSTANTIALLY worse than a guy who NEVER played there? Any ideas again?
