There are a number of teams (8) available in 99RT4.
It is an extremely balanced league, and several of the open teams have a number of established stars, emerging players (and enough challenges to make it fun.)
Notably, the Santa Fe Sabre Cats are unowned, lead their division by 8 games, and have such players as Johann Santana, Kevin Brown, Posada, three third baseman: Mora, Huff, and Blaylock; Matsui, Berkman, Jeff Kent! They have some holes but are quite competitive.
Granted, it's too late to trade surplus players this year, but this is a great opportunity to get into a league and help turn it around, while having a credible team, or at least the nucleus of one, already there.
