Agreed, Brian
Brian, I whole-heartedly agree. But I also issued a public apology to the whole league, admitted my actions were completely wrong, and proceeded to name myself as a huge part of the problem with the situation. I also requested, on this board (do a page search for "Fed Up" to find the thread), if the person who was so "Fed Up" wanted to, we could discuss in private email and correct whatever was wrong for us both. But the person who annonymously blasted me has failed to respond, or even name himself/herself on the board as I did. Does that make me less to blame or a better person than "Fed Up"?? Heck no, I still think I overreact to some offers. Does it make me feel like my gripes are at least somewhat legit? Heck yeah since I've not seen a response to any of my pleas to iron out the problem.
I have since just ignored silly trade offers, both in our league and elsewhere. I let them simply fade into past. I've got one league where everyone is trying to get Glavine. I've gotten 3 serious offers, the rest were... um... well, you know. Picks are involved in the talks, so I'm taking my time discussions since picks are not available yet.
I've taken to responding to offers that are fair, and countering those. I ignore all others. My post was about what bugs me, not any specific person or league. We've all made terrible offers, when you look back at some of them (Abreu??). Thinking "what was I thinking (or not thinking)" when you have a chance to look at them objectively. That's just part of the game. I'm talking about being blasted in email or on a board because you don't want Alicea and a #3 rookie for ARod (simulated example, never occured). That's the complaint I have. If someone doesn't want to deal a player for a 15 player package, that is his right as owner of the team. Don't blast a guy for turning down a trade offer, fair or otherwise.
