Jim,
My suggestion to those who don't have the time to be an active manager is to manage less teams. As an active manager myself I would rather have an opponent who manages one or two teams actively than who owns five or six teams but neglects to play the games and make roster moves when needed. I agree that some leagues are not competative due to the large number of managerlees teams. Perhaps a more serious problem is the large number of teams without an active manager. My guess is that for every managerless team there is also a team that is neglected. I don't think a redraft of the talent will change that. In a few years after the redraft there will be those who have and those who have not. I agree 100% with Gary that it takes time and effort to build a consistent winner. If an owner is not willing to do that I question why they would have PB as a hobby. I proposed a solution to this issue in a thread about a month ago. I will see if I can find it and post it near this post.
