This event seems to occur alot, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. As KenG outlines in his post, the manual pretty clearly states a procedure for figuring this out. That said, I do believe that the home team SHOULD definitely know who the starter is going to be prior to the first pitch AND be allowed to make a line-up change if needed. But apparently the computer can't handle that so we are stuck with what we got.
