Wrong Theory
Your theory that owners should play games as soon as possible because Wednesday doesn't really mean Wednesday, is short-sighted. If a deadline is set for a certain date, that should be followed, since we all have lives with busy schedules and other committments. An occassional delay can be expected, but it should be the exception instead of the rule. Because an owner waits to play games, doesn't mean he's milking the suspense or is afraid of losing, there are a number of valid reasons for waiting. In my case, I could not play home games because Game 3 crashed and was shown in progress for almost 3 days. As you know, the Robot does funny things like leaving a pitcher in way too long. We have had several posts lately about line-ups with pitchers listed that don't actually pitch. While games 3-5 were pending, what if I had listed Schilling as the SP for Game 6. Pitching Game 3, he would not be ready for Game 6 if he pitched a complete game (which the robot is apt to do) in Game 3. By submitting SP's for Game 6-7 before Games 3-5 are played, I would be unsure if they could start Game 6-7. Additionally, a player could get injured during Games 3-5 and not be available for Games 6-7.
Lastly, it should be obvious by now that most readers of these posts don't appreciate unsigned posts. Authors who have trepidation in signing their name should leave the posts to those that do.
