Back To Board

Rookies

Posted By Tim Shine

I don't know how many of you even noticed it but KenG has a list of rookies (formatted) a bit further down the page (12/12 I think). I'm surprised that no one has taken the time to thank him - including me - but let me change that right now - THANKS KENG.

What is interesting, in my opinion, is the lack of impact rookies. Few are going to be able to better their teams for next season with rookie picks. However, and I know this from experience, it's from a pool like this that several sleepers emerge who become superstars.

Final thought - since it's the most active managers who contribute to this board I would ask that you keep my teams in mind when you are looking to trade during the off-season. They are easy to find as they all start with Burlington. I find the off-season to be the best time for trading as game playing is off and true needs are obvious after you look at the 2003/04 stats of your teams. I do try to answer each and every trade proposal (and I prefer to get them that way) with an accept, reject, or modify but I do have lots of teams and sometimes I might miss a proposal.

I do want to apologize to RT manages who have sent me trade proposals in the past few months which I have ignored. For reasons that even I don't understand, I like to trade much, much less in these leagues.

Final, final thought - has anyone noticed how many unmanaged teams made it to the playoffs this year? The faithful are dwindling.
