I agree that the problem is the time of year we do the playoffs not necessarily that there is significant apathy. There is also quite a few "managerless" teams is the playoffs. I don't understand why the "managerless" teams games cannot be played the 1st day instead of the last day of the schedule. Does anyone have an answer to this? In fact, I would go so far as to let all the playoff games be played by the team that is not "managerless" even if it means making the "managerless" team the visiting team throughout the playoffs.
