Maybe I'm missing something here

Posted By mpeling

My question is, Should we make trades based on what our (The Owners) player biases are in real life? Or should our evaluations of players be based on what their PB value is? My value of players have been determined by what THIS game has them evaluated at. To me, this would make sense, since those values are what this game is played by. If a player has a better overall PB value, then he is considered a better overall player in PB baseball. In this trade that would make Ramirez only the third best player in this trade. Behind Wilson and Dye. And if my real life passions have Ramierez as a superior player to nay in this trade, what is the purpose and sense of the PB ratings?

The commish vetoed a early version of this trade and his two main reasons were
1) Kennedy is too injury prone. ( But he played in 142 games and over 500 atbats last year)

2) Lily isn't woth nearly that much because this game doesn't value lefties as important than in real life.

my contention is then, lower their PB rating so they make match how they would accurately play in THIS GAME. Not what they do in real life per say.

Ok enough, I'm not griping here, just want to get a better understanding of how to truly evaluate players in this game.

Thanks all

Mike P.
