Hi guys. Wanted to express some thoughts on Yankees/Beltran...welcome comments. I am a lifelong Yankee fan. Here's what I think.

1) I am disappointed they did not get Beltran. Their offense is ancient with only Jeter, A-Rod and Matsui under 31 and have ZERO outfield depth.

1b: Tino (37)
2b: Womack (35)
C: Posada (33)
CF: Bernie (36)
Rf: Sheffield (36)
DF: Giambi (34-stick a fork in him)

2) If the budget is truly shot, I would have passed on Randy Johnson. This is the ultimate short term WE MUST WIN NOW move. As great as he is and he will strike out Davis Ortiz, the move was incredibly expensive given that they tossed Vasquez and ate part his salary too. Maybe Vasquez is just a good National League pitcher; I hope Pavano and J. Wright prove to be better AL pitchers.

3 years from now, would have preferred to see Vasquez, another young lefty and Beltran rather than

Nothing/to be acquired????

3) Beltran will regret signing with Mets. His #'s will go down and expectations will be sky-high.
