I think that if a new manager did not really want Ichiro (or had other more important holes to fill) he could easily trade him (or maybe one of the other RFs) and end up with a stronger team than he started out with. Even if the roster match ups are not perfect, the team getting Ichiro got more star power. Ichiro is very valuable trade bait.
