Its an interesting discussion
In hindsight its easy to look back and say that cutting Cuddyer was a mistake.
However, when you're in the situation 12 months ago...
I was looking at 15 position players that seemed assured of playing time and a couple that weren't. So I thought maybe I could sneak Cuddyer through. As poor as my pitching was I wanted to give myself an extra chance with an extra pitcher. Every time I see a highly touted rookie that struggles I am reminded of the highly touted guys that never amounted to anything (i.e. Ruben Mateo, Dee Brown, Travis Dawkins, Russ Branyan, etc). So occasionally I give up on one too soon. You try not to do that but sometimes with too many bodies you guess wrong.
