I think 'Best Player' is a better strategy than 'Fill Need' for the draft as a whole (unless you have one of the first few picks). I look for the rookies that I think are going to have most impact in the upcoming MLB season, regardless if it fills my need or not, and not their current numbers. If they perform, you can always trade them for the positions you need.
