RT & TRAD differ

Posted By DaveF

In RT the actual stats for the current year are used. Last years 2004 stats are totally meaningless. It makes no difference if the player is a rookie or veteran.

If he plays, you can play him. If he doesn't, you can't. Each week the value of players changes as their stats change. It makes watching the daily box scores a lot of fun.

If a rookie plays in MLB, he'll be availbable for use in RT immediately. Read the manual to see how the OVERUSED & WORN OUT apply in RT.

In TRAD, you can only use a pitcher up to 115% of his IP and for position players up to 110% of their PA's.

BUT in RT, in the early 20% of the season, you can actually use a player up to 150% of his actual usage in MLB. Overuse those guys with hot early stats.

Also - if you look at the rookie draft for TRAD, only guys who played in 2004 are listed.

In the RT rookie draft, lots of guys will be listed who have never played in MLB but are on rosters. They will just be listed alphabetically by name if they have no 2005 stats yet.

I hope this helps. BOTTOM LINE answer to your question: If they play in MLB, you get to use them at 110% or 115% of whatever was their use in 2005. Their 2004 use is meaningless.

Your question was:

"What are the rules for using rookies that were just drafted (Rookie Draft)? If they are starting for their team, will they be a "regular" for that position, or do you have to wait until next year to use them as a regular?
