I am an original from way back in 1990 when we
played APBA baseball. My first team was the
HUDSON CRUISERS in B-8 (Berra-8!) and I still
own that team. As a matter of fact I drafted
Bonds in my first year and had him until I traded
him last season. I drafted Knoblauch in '91
and I STILL have him! However, I also have
Edgardo Alphonzo so I may be saying goodbye to
Chucky. I won my first championship in my 2nd
year and due to that and my winning percentage
I got to play in the CHAMPIONS league which was
a way of giving recognition to GM's. I've heard
that either at the end of the season or next they
will have a round robin of all the Championship
teams from all the leagues! That would be cool.
Right now I own 5 teams...3 regular and two Real
Times. I love the realtime but I'm going to stay
in Berra-8 due to my long history in that league.
I'm probably going to dump my team in the Champs
because that league is pretty dead now. I won
the championship in the first year that league
was formed! As for a "History" page they will
eventually do that but right now they need MORE
managers to create revenue so they can do all
those things. Right now they are concentrating
on constantly improving the game itself. Thank
you for saying that the originals should be
commended for sticking it out....it was really
rough in the last few years. We didn't even
have a light at the end of the tunnel then and
things looked pretty bleak. Purebaseball is
really great and I'm so glad I got to keep my
teams from before! Boy, I'd love to see Barry
Bonds total historical stats over all the years
I had him...he was awesome. Another thing that
would be good is individual achievements like
no hitters or homers in one game or longest
hitting streak. Something we did back in APBA
days was to have an All-Star game (we did this
on our own) and also MVP/CY YOUNG voting plus
Manager of the year. I'd like to see that make
a comeback.__I think you are right about giving
the realtime leagues a REAL name. I also get
confused about which team is in what league or
which players I have. The original leagues were
named after the oldtime stars so why not name the
new leagues from more modern stars? Well, gets
that's it. Want to know anything else?
