Unfortunately, it's we the fans that crave the home run and create the environment to encourage the athletes to do whatever they can to excel. Then, we are the first to condemn them when their hand is caught in the cookie jar. Is this meant to condone Bonds' use of roids? No!!! It's just a sad commentary to the double standards that our society creates. Maybe I'm a bit swayed with my comments after watching the movie "Ray" for the first time last night. If it takes steroids, or heroin, to be the best you can be, I'll be content to be an ordinary schmuck!
