Eliminating 115% rule

Posted By CC

Any body have thoughts on getting rid of the 115% players usage rule? If a team has Randy Johnson, they can pitch him say 5 or 6 innings a game after he has pitched his real life 245 innings and get an extra 7 starts out of him. He made 35 starts and pitched 245.2 innings last year. Under the rules he can pitch about 282 innings and have 42 starts. Not very realistic. If you have 4 starters with close to 200 innings, there is no need for a 5th starter. I haven't seen a 4 man rotaion in baseball for a whole season in 20 years. I read complaints on here about players performances, mostly hitting, being below their real stats. Getting rid of the 115% usage rule would forced teams to use the Jamie Moyer/Casey Fossum types in our rotaions, like in real baseball. Then hitters stats would be close to expectations.
