That would be great...
I have longed for a return to "smaller ball", as the grand game was played prior to the 80's. A time when 1-0 tensely pitched games that hinged on a stolen base, clutch hit, defensive gem or a managerial move. I'm thoroughly sick of players hitting off-balance home runs and taters resulting from a player losing his grip on the bat and following through with one hand. In addition to some players juicing up, MLB has fueled the offensive fire by allowing the building of band box parks, greatly reducing foul territories and verly likely altering the ball characteristics. Additionally, most, maybe all of the technological innovations (bat weights, body armour where a batter no longer fears the inside pitch to name a few) in the last few decades have favored the hitter.
I, for one, love well pitched games and really enjoy smaller scores. Get the juice out of the game, stop building shanty size ball parks, give something back to the pitchers (raise the mound, for one). Hell, while I'm at it...get rid of the DH, as well. I've never liked that innovation (?!?).
