Back To Board

My own experiments

Posted By Cameron

I own three teams here. Two of them are big time contenders right now, but the other is a bottom feeder trying to rebuild. I often use my bottom feeding team to experiment. I play guys in different positions, change the pitchers roles, and other kinds of crazy things. Sometimes the results are surprising and sometimes they're not. The point is, I learn first hand how the game and robot handle uncommon things. It's useful because when one of my contending teams gets into a tight series, I will know how to get a little extra out of my team. Why do I need to wait for PB to organize something? The more people experiment with this thing and bring it's shortcoming's out into the open, the faster it will become bulletproof and more realisitc, if that is the goal.

This latest glitch is a perfect example. Some managers either by accident or by design were exploiting the glitch. Their opponents spot it, and it gets fixed! Perfect. That's another reason why it's important to know how the game works, so you KNOW when it's not working.

This latest glitch could have been removed much quicker if people were MORE aware of how the game works. The complaints rattled around on this discussion board for over a week because it took that long for someone to identify the problem to be a glitch. The minute I read the first post I knew it was a glitch. What they were describing was not what I had experienced in the past, and more importantly it was contrary to what the manual states is supposed to happen.

With the exception of a few (minor) manager selected preferences, you play the same opponent in every game (the robot). His vehicle changes, but it's the same driver and it pays to observe.
