Glitch

Posted By Jon

Quick question. Did anyone actually see a team use a relief pitcher in back to back games? I started this whole discussion because I had the "opportunity" to do so in my series this week in Trad-2. However, I did not take advantage of this glitch to my reliever's BFA and did not use those RP at all following their starts. That is just a matter of integrity, and not taking advantage of the situation.

As for the using relievers as starters.....

I think the game appropriately handles this situation. Because of IP usage, you can't use a closer to start games for an extended time. Also, when starting a reliever who had zero starts in the regualar season, he is penalized in his ability in the simulation...also good. In a small sample size, or in the case of a glitch of some type, you might see irregular results. However, as I have stated before, there is absolutely nothing wrong with starting a swingman-type relief pitcher who ACTUALLY started some games in the regular season. Worrell and Florie in my case. When you start pitchers like that, they aren't penalized at all, and rightly so.

Apparently, this week there was a glitch in the purebaseball database which did caused errors in the BFA of relief pitchers after a starting appearance. This glitch wasn't their before and because of a few of us reported the problem, it is now being taken care of. It sounds like the problem was server wide. Some of us took advantage of the situation, others of us did not.
